Thanks for the comments Dan. This article is of course about privacy at some level but it's really about choices, freewill, and the ability to interact with others without some nameless, faceless tech overlord "deciding" what shall be deemed the correct opinion one must hold.

What do you care if Parler and Gab are wastelands of factless opinions (this is your opinion). If you think that, simply don't participate on those platforms and you can hang out on those other bastions of hard facts and accuracy, Twitter and Facebook.

Eventually there will probably need to be two completelty parallel tech stacks, one for people who want to squash debate by censoring opinions they don't like under the guide of violating "terms and conditions" (this would be the politcal left) and another that has much more of a free speech spirit where you can debate the ideas (this would be the polical right).

The point is anti-dystopia, anti-big brother. We don't need big tech overlords to decide for humanity what are the "right" opinions to hold or else we'll erase you from the internet.

Who made them rulers of planet Earth?
